Position Title: Photographer


Hourly Compensation: $15.50


General Statement:
The Photographer will work to cover and document events as well as work to produce content through creative photo shoots for Associated Students Inc., CSUF. This position is responsible for all aspects of photography; shooting, and editing. The Photographer must be a highly motivated, outgoing, and enthusiastic individual looking to gain experience in both event and creative photography.

Duties and Responsibilities:

● Serve as a member of the ASI Marketing and Design creative team.
● Shoot, edit, and finalize photo content for marketing and communications of ASI programs, events, and internal corporate communications.
● Document major and minor ASI events as requested.
● Maintain and update server archive of all photography for the organization.

Education, Work Experience Requirements and Abilities:

Education and Experience
• Must be a currently enrolled CSUF student. Major in Visual Arts or Communications strongly preferred.
• Experience in photography with an emphasis on portraiture, and event coverage or photojournalism.
• 2+ years of experience shooting and editing photo projects utilizing DSLR/Mirrorless camera workflows.
• Comfortable with photography fundamentals: shutter speed, aperture, ISO, etc.
• Familiar with flash use preferred.


Knowledge and Abilities:
• Ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds.
• Strong knowledge of photography principles: lighting, angles, composition, continuity, depth of field, etc.
• Strong technical knowledge of digital cameras and related equipment.
• Skilled with photo grading software such as Adobe Lightroom.
• Demonstrable proficiency in Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop.
• Demonstrates good verbal and non-verbal communication skills.
• Must be able to recover from and continue to work successfully following disappointments, setbacks, or mistakes.
• Displays a positive attitude with customers, coworkers and toward work.
• Must be able to keep an accurate record of hours worked by clocking in and out correctly.
• Must be able to maintain strict adherence to all policies and procedures.
• Must be able to be on time, prepared to work and adhere to department dress code.


• Must posses a valid California Drivers Licence, and insured automobile.
• Must be available to for off-campus shoots that may require travel to the shoot location.
• Must be available for occasional weekend shoots and evening events outised of normal 8-5 business hours.

  • Must have reliable transportation as position may require travel to off-campus shoots

• Must be physically able to lift and carry up to 25 lbs properly.
• Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
• Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards
• Frequently required to sit, talk, listen and walk; manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination; corrected hearing and vision to normal range; clear verbal communication.

• Must be able to work flexible hours based on event schedule and department needs.
