Position Title: Building Manager 

 

Hourly Compensation: $16.78

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The Building Manager is responsible for monitoring services and general operation of the Student Recreation Center. They are expected to become familiar with a variety of building systems, including audio/visual equipment. The Building Manager will be required to independently make decisions that will include all aspects of event and emergency management, and how to manage the operations of the Student Recreation Center.


• Adhere to and enforce all policies and procedures per Titan Recreation Operating Policies and Student Manager Manual.
• Complete Audio/Visual and physical setups as required.
• Prepare building for daily operation per established procedures.
• Oversee general building comfort and cleanliness.
• Attend staff meetings as scheduled.
• Advise groups and individuals of SRC policies and procedures for simple reservations, food services, room capacities, setup styles and equipment use.
• Launder fitness towels per established procedure.
• Produce daily and weekly reports as needed by staff members.
• Monitor locker room and restroom cleanliness and supply levels.
• Respond to building systems and emergency maintenance and cleaning as needed.
• Make regular safety and security checks of all interior and exterior areas.
• Maintain strict adherence to safety procedure and attend safety meetings as scheduled.
• Other duties as assigned.


Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
Education:
• Must be a California State University, Fullerton student.

Experience:
• Previous fitness center experience preferred.
• Previous cash handling and customer service experience.

Knowledge and Abilities:
• Must be able to maintain strict adherence to all policies and procedures.
• Must be able to be on time, prepared to work and adhere to department dress code.
• Ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds.
• Demonstrates good verbal and non-verbal communication skills.
• Displays a positive attitude with customers, coworkers and toward work.
• Demonstrates the ability to help others adapt to new situations.
• Must be able to accept instruction/constructive criticism from supervisor.
• Must be able to recover from and continue to work successfully following disappointments, setbacks, or mistakes.
• Must be able to work through bad experiences by assessing what caused them, what can be done to repair them and how to avoid them in the future.
• Must be able to keep an accurate record of hours worked by clocking in and out correctly


Additional Requirements:
Typical Physical Requirements:
• Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination, corrected hearing and vision to normal range, clear verbal communication, listening.
• Depending on job tasks, physical demands will require lifting, pushing, pulling, walking, walking over rough or uneven surfaces, bending, stooping, climbing, and working in confined space, lifting, pushing, pulling and carrying loads.
• Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
• Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards
• Must be able to safely carry and lift up to 50 lbs.


Special Requirements
• Must be First Aid and CPR certified within three (3) months of employment.
• Available to work nights and weekends as required.
