Job Summary:

Under minimal supervision, the clerical assistant will provide clerical support to the Manager, Student Programs. The ASI Student Programs & Engagement is devoted to being inclusive, innovative, and inspiring. We work to unify the campus communities and enhance the Titan experience every day because we believe the differences of our students create the Titan family.  These responsibilities include the preparation and distribution of materials to programs and events for the department, administration of the programs, supporting the ASI Student programs, supporting the street team programs, and other clerical and programmatic support functions, as necessary.

The Clerical Assistant will support ASI’s DEI plan in all programming, services and interactions.

  • Attends and monitors ASI events to ensure safety and to mitigate risk
  • As directed, facilitate student leadership training and development for student leaders throughout the year
  • Apply program policies and procedures; Review financial paperwork and proposals
  • Appropriately apply ASI and University policies and procedures
  • Facilitate and encourage cross‐collaboration among ASI programming groups
  • As directed, attend weekly group meetings and meet individually with student leaders to monitor progress of events and to
  • provide guidance
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Typical Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
  • Must adhere to back safety and proper lifting techniques.
  • Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on telephone.

 

Typical Working Conditions:

  • Frequently required to sit, talk, listen, walk; manual dexterity and eye‐hand coordination; corrected hearing and vision to normal range; clear verbal communication.

 

Special Requirements:

  • Required to be a Mandatory Reporter and sign ASI Limited Mandatory Reporter Form.

  • Must be enrolled at California State University, Fullerton

Knowledge and Abilities:

  • Must possess strong interpersonal skills with ability to establish and maintain effective, cooperative, and harmonious relationships within a diverse campus environment. Ability to effectively organize, lead, train and direct the efforts of student leaders and volunteers and engender support for various programs and projects.
  • Must be able to interpret and carryout Associated Students Inc. and University policies.
  • Ability to interpret and apply program policies and procedures. Ability to rapidly acquire a general knowledge of the overall operation, functions, and programs of the Associated Students Inc.
  • Ability to use initiative and resourcefulness in planning work assignments and in implementing long‐range program improvements.
  • Demonstrated ability to make decisions and carry through actions having implications with regards to other programs or service areas.
  • Word processing, excel, and outlook knowledge required. Strong written and oral communication skills.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Events and Programming experience
  • Experience in promotions and/or public relations
  • Ability to follow routine verbal and written instructions
  • Self-motivated with strong organization and critical thinking skills
  • Demonstrate creative ability
