General Statement: 
Hours will not exceed 8 hours per day, or 20 hours per week. Schedule to de be determined based upon office needs and student’s class schedule.

Duties and Responsibilities:
ASI’s Marketing, Communications, & Design department is looking for creative, energetic artists to create the print and digital artwork to support the organization, its student leaders, committees, commissions, and programs. Designers will gain real-world studio experience as they provide creative solutions for all events marketed to the CSUF student body. Students in this position should be self-motivated, able to take initiative and work with minimal supervision, be open to feedback and criticism of their work, demonstrate willingness to learn new skills, and provide excellent customer service.

The Graphic Designer will support ASI’s DEI plan in all programming, services and interactions.

• Serve as a member of the ASI Marketing, Communications, & Design (MCD) team.
• Using fundamental design principles, create all digital and print imagery (logos, handbills, posters, social media and web graphics, video screens, signage, etc.) for all of ASI and its events.
• Conceptualize and pitch cohesive marketing campaigns.
• Produce in-house printed displays and vinyl signage.
• Provide quality, professional, friendly, and courteous customer service with everyone.
• Be a good teammate.
• Adhere to safety procedures and attend safety meetings as scheduled.
• Carry out other duties as assigned.


Education, Work Experience Requirements and Abilities:

Education and Experience
• Must be enrolled student at California State University, Fullerton.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience with Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.

• Working towards a degree in graphic design or illustration is highly preferred.
• Work experience in graphic arts; or have completed college level courses in graphic arts and/or fine arts.

• Knowledge of photography, video, animation, and motion graphics are a bonus.

Knowledge and Abilities:
• Must be computer/internet savvy with knowledge of Apple OSX, the Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office, and most social media platforms.
• Must have skills in graphic art (layout, typography, color theory, etc.).
• Must be able to present a portfolio or examples of graphic artwork for review.
• Must have effective oral and written communication skills (i.e., communicating with clients, keeping supervisor and co-workers updated on work progress).
• Ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds and interest.

• Must work effectively with coworkers, clients, and others by sharing ideas in a constructive and positive manner; listens to and objectively considering ideas and suggestions from others.
• Must be able to be on time, prepared to work and adhere to department dress code.
• Must be able to keep an accurate record of hours worked by clocking in and out correctly.
• Must be physically able to perform duties as outlined.

• Must be able to lift and carry up to 35 lbs properly.
• Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
• Frequently required to sit, talk, listen, walk; manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination; corrected hearing and vision to normal range; clear verbal communication.
• The ability to walk/travel to and from the on-campus print shop for print pick-ups and deliveries.
