Job Title: Personal Trainer
Department: Student Recreation Center (SRC)
Reports to: Fitness & Wellness Coordinator
Pay Rate: $21.00 per hour
Hours: This is a part-time (20 hours/week), position with expected hours to be worked during business hours of Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5:00 p.m

Job Summary:
The Personal Trainer will provide exercise plans and instruction to fee-paying members to address their individual needs, abilities, and fitness goals, through private and semi-private consultation/sessions.

Essential Job Functions:
• Provide initial consultation and assessment with clients
• Develop progressive fitness/exercise plans to achieve agreed upon goals
• Perform one on one orientations and or group orientations on allmachinery
• Provide instruction on proper technique
• Provide feedback and encouragement
• Enforce safety at all times
• Maintains accurate records of personal training sessions on a daily basis
• Assist in program and specific special events
• Must attend and participate in mandatory trainings
• Maintain a clean and safe environment
• Adhere to all policies and procedures as stated in the SRC PrivateTrainer Manual
• Other duties as assigned

Customer Service & Collaboration:
• Establishes and maintains working relationships with various A.S. andUniversity departments

Safety:
• Ensures all operations are conducted with safety of staff and customersas first priority, and in accordance with the Injury and Illness PreventionPlan and other safety policies.
• Reports accidents to supervisor and reviews changes required to avoidreoccurrence.
• Reports maintenance problems and/or broken and unsafe equipment tothe appropriate party or supervisor immediately

Requirements:
• Must be a currently enrolled California State University Fullerton student in good academic standing
• Kinesiology major is preferred
• Previous personal training experience is preferred
• Completion of Student Recreation Center Personal Training Program AND/OR equivalent education
• Posses a nationally recognized Personal Training Qualification: NSCF,ACSM, ACE, AFAA, NSCA, NAAFA

Work Environment:
• Work is typically performed indoors in a climate-controlled environment.
• Tasks require a variety of physical activities, generally involving muscular strain related to walking, stooping, sitting, reaching, lifting, and carrying up to 50 lbs
• Many functions of the work pose high degree of hazard uncertainty.
• Continuous use of motor skills

• Must be able to lift, lower, push and pull loads ranging in weight from 5-50 lbs
