This is a part-time (20 hours/week), position with expected hours to be worked during business hours of Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5:00 p.m

Job Summary:

The UCC Conference Center Assistant assists the conference center staff in the daily operations of the University Conference Center, to include providing excellent customer service, assisting with reservations and performing office tasks.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Respond to telephone and walk-in inquiries, provide general information as needed, take messages and address reservation requests
  • Process, and use computer reservation system (Event
    Management Systems) to generate reservations for student groups, oncampus, and off-campus clients using current reservation system
  • Produce event room layouts as needed
  • Advise groups and individuals of TSU policies and procedures for reservations, food services, room capacities, set-up styles, and equipment us
  • Produce daily and weekly reports for use by TSU staff and campus community
  • Maintain filing system
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment
  • Maintain strict adherence to safety procedures. Attend safety meetings as scheduled
  • Participate in departmental and interdepartmental trainings
    and meetings
  • Provide room and event location tours to clients as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

Customer Service & Collaboration:

·         Establishes and maintains working relationships with various A.S. and University departments

Safety:

·         Ensures all operations are conducted with safety of staff and customers as first priority, and in accordance with the Injury and Illness Prevention Plan and other safety policies.

·         Reports accidents to supervisor and reviews changes required to avoid reoccurrence.

·         Reports maintenance problems and/or broken and unsafe equipment to the appropriate party or supervisor immediately

Requirements:

Must be a currently enrolled California State University Fullerton student in good academic standing

Trainings:

·         Must complete:

o   Bloodborne Pathogens

o   Campus Health and Safety Requirements

o   CSU’S Discrimination Harassment Prevention Program

o   Data Security and FERPA

o   Gender Equity and Title IX

o   Injury and Illness Prevention Program (IIPP)

o   Introduction to Racial Equity Module

o   First Aid/CPR/AED Certification

within 30 days of hire

Work Environment:

  • General office environment
  • Work is generally sedentary in nature, but may require standing and walking around campus
  • The working environment is generally favorable
  • Lighting and temperature are adequate
  • There are no hazardous or unpleasant work conditions caused by noise, dust, etc.
  • Work is generally performed in an office environment, with standard office equipment available

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to lift, lower, push and pull loads ranging in weight from 5-35 lbs
  • Must be able to carry loads ranging from 5-35 lbs for distances up to 20ft
  • Must be capable of kneeling, reaching overhead, climbing stairs and ladders, walking, twisting, stooping, and bending
