Recreation Attendant

Position Title: Recreation Attendant 


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Personally greet and welcome all members and guests
  • Conduct customer service in a courteous and professional manner to customers and all other employees
  • Adhere to all safety guidelines and procedures
  • Monitor general operations and events to insure facilities and equipment are used properly
  • Utilize operations software to complete required checklists and monitor capacities
  • Assist with the checking in of the fitness classes
  • Assist Building Manager with general oversight of spaces as it pertains to cleanliness and capacity of spaces in building 
  • Assist with preparing and maintaining building for daily operation
  • Assist with general building comfort and cleanliness
  • Conduct thorough cleaning of machines, surfaces and equipment throughout the facility
  • Launder fitness towels per established procedure
  • Monitor and help maintain men and womens locker room and restroom cleanliness, report any deficiencies to building managers
  • Assist patrons as needed in the mean and womens locker room to maintain adequate customer service
  • Restock men and women's locker room and restroom paper products as needed, or alert custodial staff if present
  • Report any malfunction of lights, doors, locks, and other building systems as required 
  • Any other duties as assigned


Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:


  • Must be enrolled student at California State University, Fullerton.


  • Previous customer service experience preferred.

  • Must be detail oriented 
  • Must be neatly groomed - appropriate for front office appearance
  • Must be punctual, reliable and have good attendance
  • Must be able to work independently and follow directions with little supervision
  • Must be able to work well with faculty, staff, students, and general public.
  • Must be able to work with people from diverse backgrounds and interests.
  • First aid, AED, and CPR certification within (3) months of employment


Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
