Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Under general supervision, the Accounting Assistant will provide clerical support to the Accounting department and staff. The
Accounting Assistant will perform general office and reception duties.

  • Perform receptionist’s duties including: answering telephones, taking and relaying of messages, distributing mail, processing inquiries.
  • Perform office duties including: data entry, scanning documents, filling, making photocopies and delivering checks.
  • Ensure customer service is conducted in a courteous and professional manner to customers and all other employees.
  • Assist customers with check pick-up.
  • Assist customers with cash or check deposits.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of the department policies and procedures.
  • Receive and verify incoming check requests.
  • Assist with creating invoices and weekly check process.
  • Assist with check mailing and distribution process.
  • Other projects and duties as assigned


Education, Work Experience Requirements and Abilities:

Education:

  • Must be an enrolled student at California State University, Fullerton.

Experience:

  • Customer service experience – preferable
  • Prior office experience – preferable
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) required

Knowledge and Abilities:

  • Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary
  • customer services.
  • Must be able to be on time, prepared to work and adhere to department dress code.
  • Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments.
  • Must be able to accept instruction/constructive criticism from supervisor.
  • Demonstrates good verbal and non-verbal communication skills.
  • Must be able to keep an accurate record of hours worked by clocking in and out correctly
  • Work well with general public, student leaders and students, faculty and staff, and people from diverse backgrounds and interest.

  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and

  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards
  • Must be able to safely carry and lift up to 25 lbs.
