Graduate Assistant for Student Government

Hourly Compensation: $18.56 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Under the direction of the Student Government Coordinator, the Graduate Assistant provides support to the Student Government Coordinator in advising student leaders as they conceive, implement and evaluate a variety of regular weekly events and meetings. 

  • As directed, co-advises student leaders on developing, facilitating, and evaluating programs and events
  • Attends and monitors ASI events to ensure safety and to mitigate risk 
  • As directed, facilitate student leadership training and development for student leaders throughout the year
  • Apply program policies and procedures
  • Review financial paperwork and proposals 
  • Appropriately apply ASI and University policies and procedures 
  • Facilitate and encourage cross-collaboration among ASI programming groups 
  • As directed, attend weekly group meetings and meet individually with student leaders to monitor progress of events and to provide guidance 
  • Other duties as assigned 

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • B.S./B.A. required.
  • Must be enrolled/enrolling in a graduate program focusing on higher education or student affairs
  • Some experience in college student activities and student government preferred, but not required
